Healthways Scubair Sonic
The Healthways Scubair Sonic and Scubair J are iconic predecessors to the renowned SCUBAPRO regulators we know today. Crafted from chrome-plated brass, these regulators were instrumental in shaping the early technology and brand that eventually evolved into SCUBAPRO.
Originally, SCUBAPRO was the professional line of diving equipment commissioned by Healthways and developed by Gustav Dalla Valle and Dick Bonin. However, with Healthways facing financial difficulties and ultimately declaring bankruptcy, Dalla Valle and Bonin saw an opportunity. They seized the rights to the SCUBAPRO name and embarked on a journey to create an entirely new generation of diving equipment.
In 1963, the legendary brand of SCUBAPRO was officially born. Dalla Valle and Bonin’s vision, innovation, and commitment to quality laid the foundation for SCUBAPRO’s enduring legacy in the world of scuba diving.
These early regulators, like the Healthways Scubair Sonic and Scubair J, are a testament to the rich history and evolution of diving technology, paving the way for the world-class equipment that divers rely on today.
