I’ve had a few requests for pictures of the ‘unicorn’ – the Aqua-Lung that was painted blue and rebranded as JC Higgins, later re-labeled as Aqua-Lung Mistral, with a sticker placed right over the JC Higgins label.

Notably, they have a small 3/8-inch diameter yoke screw, indicating their compatibility with lower pressure tanks.

Second Stage: The second stage often utilizes a tilt valve mechanism, a design common in regulators of that era but different from the poppet-type valves used in modern equipment. Tilt valves require a first stage equipped with a safety relief valve to operate safely.
