At its peak, Tekna achieved approximately $14 million in annual sales, reflecting its significant impact on the diving industry. However, by 1990, the company was dissolved, and its product lines were distributed among various manufacturers. The scuba equipment segment was acquired by Tekna/Ocean Edge, which later became Ocean Reef, while other product lines found new homes with different companies.
Today, Tekna’s legacy endures through the continued production and sale of its knives and flashlights, now managed by Tektite Industries. These products maintain the original Tekna designs, offering enthusiasts a connection to the brand’s innovative past.
Vintage Tekna scuba masks occasionally appear in secondary markets, such as online auctions, where they are valued for their unique design and historical significance. Collectors and diving enthusiasts often seek these masks as tangible pieces of diving history.
