Vintage Scuba Gear – Classic Regulators, Cylinders & Dive History

A Personal Collection, Working Museum & Global Reference

Vintage Scuba Gear began in 2004 as a personal project driven by a lifelong passion for diving, underwater exploration, and the equipment that made it all possible. What started as a small collection has grown into an internationally recognised archive of vintage scuba regulators, breathing apparatus, valves, gauges, and diving artefacts many of which are still restored, studied, and dived today.

This site is closely connected to an active museum and research collection and reflects decades spent collecting, restoring, and researching historic diving equipment from around the world. Every article, guide, and photograph is informed by hands-on experience whether that’s dismantling a regulator on the bench, tracking down original manufacturing details, or taking classic equipment back into the water where it belongs.

A major focus of the collection is twin-hose scuba regulators, including iconic and rare designs from Aqua-Lung, U.S. Divers, Voit, Nemrod, Dräger, and other manufacturers that shaped the early years of global scuba diving. Alongside these are single-hose regulators, cylinders, valves, and accessories that chart the steady evolution of diving technology across military, scientific, commercial, and recreational use.

Vintage Scuba Gear exists to share knowledge with collectors, historians, restorers, and divers worldwide. The goal is simple: to document this equipment accurately, explain how it works, preserve it properly, and keep its history alive. Whether you are researching a specific regulator, restoring a museum-grade piece, or simply fascinated by the origins of modern scuba, this site is intended to be a trusted, experience-driven reference built on curiosity, respect, and time spent both underwater and in the workshop.
